September’s monthly after-worship-service prayer time is this Friday, September 7, starting at 10:45am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to this focused time of prayer. This month, 2 of our youth will lead: they regularly attend the prayer times, so we are encouraged to come and unite in prayer with them.
We are trying to get facebook integrated into the HCC website. This is just a test message to see if posts from our website land smack on our facebook page.
We are planning a series of fellowship evenings on Fridays. We will be enjoying some fun times with game evenings, movie evenings, activity evenings, BBQ and prayer evenings… a variety geared for the whole HCC family. All are welcome!
This Friday, starting at 6pm, we are planning a game night with board games and other indoor games.
One of the best things about HCC is meeting together with people from the four corners of the earth. New people are always coming to visit, just passing through or planning to live here for various periods of time. But because Egypt is at the cross roads of the Middle East, it is the nature of our congregation for folks to not just come – but to also leave HCC on a regular basis.
For our annual Farewell Potluck, we gather to say good-bye for the summer, and for those moving on to other locations or back to their home country. This is a bittersweet time, but very valuable as we recognize that many are here on a temporary status…. We should cherish and enjoy each other in the moment, so to speak – in the time we are together. This is also like a miniature picture of how we are all foreigners and traveling through this life – this is not our permanent home.
But philosophy aside, come and share some memories, good food, and fellowship as we enjoy the lovely garden area. All are welcome!
We will enjoy the opportunity for all to stay and pray in unity after the worship service on Friday, May 4th. Meeting in the Fellowship Hall at 10:45, we can enjoy an hour of focused prayer and intercession. All are welcome to join in.
You are invited to our Easter Sunrise Service which starts at 6am. Come and join us as we celebrate the resurrection miracle of our Lord Jesus, and rejoice in all that this has provided for us who believe in Him. Look around at the many grave sites and consider that, “He is not here – in any of them. He is risen! He is risen indeed!!”
Please join us for our Good Friday service on April 18th starting at 9am. We will focus on the significance and meaning of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God touch and move in those who come to understand and believe in all that has been written and the truth about Jesus. All are welcome – bring your friends!
We welcome new arrivals and visitors almost every week. As Egypt is in the crossroads of the Middle East, there are frequent visitors and newcomers. Of course, this also means that people leave to move back to their home country or on to another location. So we cherish each worship service and gathering/meeting with those who are here.
HCC is now in a time between lead pastors. We are actively seeking God’s guidance in just the right pastor who will bless HCC and be blessed by living and pastoring here in Heliopolis, Cairo.
In the interim, we have been blessed with many excellent preachers and teachers of the word. Our weekly services will continue as normal – in a full way. We will be following the Revised Common Lectionary Texts for the weekly messages.
You are welcome to come and worship with us every Friday morning at 9am or for the other various meetings and fellowship times. As we unite to worship, hear the Word preached, study and share fellowship, we are strengthened in the Lord and build each other up.
One of our favorite times at HCC is when we come together for an evening of worship, praise, rejoicing and celebrating in the LORD! All are welcome to this time of uninterrupted expression of delight and joy in the Christian faith and walk. Scripture and prayers are included. Bring your friends.
Remember CCS’s 2K/5K races are scheduled for Saturday, March 17. Please see the flyer on the entry table for more information.
