Fellowship Event: Movie night on Friday, October 17

We are planning a fellowship event – something to bring the HCC family together for a social evening. This month, we plan to view a film that the whole family can enjoy together. Please come and maybe bring some popcorn or other munchies to share. The canteen will be open to purchase cold sodas, water etc. Bring your friends. We plan to start around 5:30pm.

International Evening

One of our favorite events at HCC is our annual International Evening. This is a time when we celebrate the different cultures and countries from which our international church members come: a great way to get to know each other and more about the world at the same time.

We start with a taste from around the world with a potluck (covered dish) meal consisting of favorite entries from each one’s country. The serving tables are arranged with various countries/continents represented in order – so that we can all enjoy a bit of the variety represented.

Then we move on to the program consisting of song, dance, poetry etc from the various countries: short glimpses into cultures from around the world. As we remember the unity we share in Christ, we also enjoy the diversity of our home countries and cultures. All are welcome – bring a friend!

Welcome Potluck (Covered Dish Meal) starting at 6pm

This is a very exciting time at HCC. Every year we welcome the newcomers who have been arriving over the past few months – and also welcome back those who have traveled for the summer. We have several new families and folks to get to know. At our Welcome Potluck, there is plenty of time to fellowship, meet and get acquainted with new folks enjoy those we have been missing and want to have a nice chat with.

Please bring some of you favorite foods to share. We will meet in the garden and enjoy the cool of the evening. All are, well….. WELCOME!

Small Group “kick-off”

After the summer holiday, we are happy for the small groups to restart. These small groups (or Bible Studies / fellowship groups) meet at various locations and on various evenings. There is even a group in El Rehab.

Each group chooses its own Biblical study and includes time for prayer, fellowship and encouragement. This is the place to get to know each other and also be of help to one another as we live and prosper in Egypt. Here is a practical example of how the body of Christ grows and strengthens each member. Please come to the Friday Worship Service (9am) and to the Small Group “kick-off” or email HCCsmallgroups@hotmail.co.uk for more information.

September’s monthly after-worship-service prayer time at 10:45am

September’s monthly after-worship-service prayer time is this Friday, September 7, starting at 10:45am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to this focused time of prayer. This month, 2 of our youth will lead: they regularly attend the prayer times, so we are encouraged to come and unite in prayer with them.

Valentine’s Weekend

HCC is offering a Valentine’s Weekend event for married or engaged couples. This will be a 2-part event starting with a quiet dinner on February 17, Friday evening, followed by 2 sessions from the DVD entitled “LAUGH YOUR WAY TO A BETTER MARRIAGE.”

Here is a bit of information about the DVD. “It isn’t your typical weekend marriage seminar. Mark’s entertaining illustrations are so hilarious and original; you’ll be sharing them with all your friends. His humor makes his teaching enjoyable, effective and memorable, helping husbands and wives remember these insights and immediately put them to work.”

On Saturday morning, February 18, the seminar will continue with 3 more sessions of the DVD.

Please see the bulletin for more information
