One of the best things about HCC is meeting together with people from the four corners of the earth. New people are always coming to visit, just passing through or planning to live here for various periods of time. But because Egypt is at the cross roads of the Middle East, it is the nature of our congregation for folks to not just come – but to also leave HCC on a regular basis.
For our annual Farewell Potluck, we gather to say good-bye for the summer, and for those moving on to other locations or back to their home country. This is a bittersweet time, but very valuable as we recognize that many are here on a temporary status…. We should cherish and enjoy each other in the moment, so to speak – in the time we are together. This is also like a miniature picture of how we are all foreigners and traveling through this life – this is not our permanent home.
But philosophy aside, come and share some memories, good food, and fellowship as we enjoy the lovely garden area. All are welcome!
